TAMWORTH, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Nominations for the Bush Laureate Awards are being invited in five categories. These five groups are Book, Album and Single of the Year, Bush Poem and Children's Poem of the Year. A sixth award – the Judith Hosier Award for outstanding achievement in nurturing Australia’s unique heritage of rhymed verse – does not involve general nominations.
The Awards presentation will be staged in the historic Tamworth Town Hall at 2pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.
As well as the Golden Gumleaf presentations, the Bush Laureate Awards gala concert features performances by many of Australia’s outstanding bush poets and appearances by leading country music guest stars.
The eligibility period for nominations for the 2009 Awards is October 1, 2007, to September 30, 2008.
