AUSTIN, TX (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Big Day Out Festival, the team behind the eponymously-named festival series in Australia and New Zealand has signed a deal with Austin-based C3 Presents.
The deal will see C3 and Big Day Out collaborate to expand the Big Day Out festival series.

The Big Day Out events have been a fixture in Australia and New Zealand since the first event was staged in Sydney in 1992. Subsequent years saw the festival expand into a series with Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth dates added ib 1993 and Gold Coast and Auckland in 1994.
The festival however, ran into a rough patch in the past year when festival co-founder Vivian Lees left the organization to pursue other opportunities. 2012's Big Day Out has also been reduced in scale and major headliners were cut from the lineup at several scheduled events.
C3, one of the top promoters in the U.S. with the Austin City Limits Music Festival and Lollapalooza has been looking for opportunities to expand internationally and in 2011, they took their Lollapalooza festival to Chile and Brazil.
