CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Chicago Park District board of commissioners has recommended that the city offer a 5-year, $50 million dollar contract allowing venue manager SMG and their partner Austin-based promoter C3 Presents to promote at football stadium Soldier Field.
The stadium has been a point of keen interest for several promoters, including the aforementioned C3 Presents, as well as both Live Nation and Jam Productions. If the rumors are true, C3 will be able to strengthen their position in the Chicago market.
"Basically, C3 has formed a content deal with SMG for properties they manage or own, and Soldier Field is one of them," C3 co-founder Charlie Jones told the Chicago Sun-Times.
Chicago is fertile territory and none of the big promoters yet has a firm hold on the market despite their fervent aspirations. C3's move into Soldier field, combined with the highly successful Lollapalooza will change will make them a force to be reckoned with in the windy city. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
