(CelebrityAccess News Service) — Clear Channel Entertainment reports that the debut of its Instant Live at the Allman Brothers Band concert on August 3 at the Meadows in Hartford, CT, was a complete success.
A limited run of 500 CDs were manufactured for the paid attendance crowd of 5,000. The 3-CD set cost $22. Practically all the CDs were sold out before the band took the stage, and the rest sold out within minutes at the end of the show. The first discs reached the hands of the concertgoers about 11 minutes after the show and all 500 in less than 30 minutes. CCE believes it could have sold more CDs, but this was a measured introduction for Instant Live.– by Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
