Ceiling Collapses During Deadmau5 Show At The Wellmont

MONTCLAIR, NJ (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Fans at a July 27 Deadmau5 show at the Wellmont Theatre got a nasty surprise when a portion of the plaster ceiling collapsed.

According to baristanet.com, several people suffered minor injuries parts of the ceiling fell into the balcony seating area, leaving several people with minor injuries. Montclair city officials told the New Jersey Star-Ledger that while one person was transported to the hospital via ambulance, that no one was seriously injured.

Montclair city officials ordered the building closed for safety inspection and repairs and a scheduled August 4th show by the band Interpol has been canceled. At present, scheduled dates by Lyle Lovett (Aug. 15), Counting Crows (Aug. 17 and 18), and Tears For Fears (Aug. 21) are still on the books.

This isn't the first time that parts of the Wellmont's ceiling have ended up in unexpected places. In 2008, Wolf Parade frontman Spencer Krug's keyboard was hit by falling ceiling plaster. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
