Citizen Bank Park Names Montgomery Director Of Facility Services

PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Philadelphia Phillies and Global Spectrum, the firm the team employs to operate facility services at Citizens Bank Park, has named Patrick Montgomery its new director of Facility Services.

A nine-year Global Spectrum employee, Montgomery, no relation to Phillies President and CEO David Montgomery, formerly was general manager of the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA, where he recently helped the Mass Convention Center Authority open the $71-million renovated multi-purpose complex. Prior to Springfield, Montgomery was the assistant general manager and event manager for the Liacouras Center at Temple University, his alma mater.

Montgomery will oversee Global Spectrum's day-to-day responsibilities at Citizens Bank Park, which includes maintenance and cleaning the 43,500-seat home of Major League Baseball's Phillies. Global Spectrum also oversees all sub-contractors, maintenance and operations of electrical, heating and air conditioning systems, and general repairs, including capital projects, for the Phillies.

"We are very fortunate to have someone of Patrick's caliber and experience overseeing all of the day-to-day facility service operations at Citizens Bank Park," said Phillies Vice President of Operations Mike Stiles. "Global Spectrum provides an incredible amount of resources to us and we will rely heavily on Patrick and his team to continue to ensure that our facility lives up to its reputation as one of the best new ballparks in all of Major League Baseball. We also want to thank his predecessor, Tim Murphy, for doing a sensational job in helping us gain that reputation." Murphy is being promoted to the position of regional vice president for Global Spectrum.

Montgomery is a member of the International Association of Assembly Managers and is the chair of the IAAM District I External Affairs Committee.

The Phillies hired Global Spectrum, the public assembly facility management subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor, prior to the 2004 opening of Citizens Bank Park. Additionally, Global Spectrum has secured concert events for the ballpark, including last summer's highly successful two-night Jimmy Buffett engagement and this summer's bash featuring Bon Jovi and Nickelback on July 15. –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
