Coldplay U.S. Tour Ticket Sales Have A Viral Campaign

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The November 7 launch of www.talkthetour.com got fans talking about the second leg of Coldplay’s “Twisted Logic” tour and the bands new single “Talk.” In fact, Coldplay fans deserve all the credit for announcing the North American tour. In an impressive example of a viral campaign, within 51 hours the site was forwarded approximately 384,000 times and the 26 dates were revealed.. In addition, 25 winners will be chosen for an opportunity to “talk” to the band via a private conference call. On December 7 Coldplay will appear on Late Night with Conan O’Brien for a special two-song performance, and on December 17 PBS’ Austin City Limits will air the band’s hour-long intimate performance.

The band performed at last week’s MTV Europe Music Awards and took home awards for “Best Song” for “Speed Of Sound” and for “Best UK & Ireland Act.” Coldplay is currently up for an American Music Award, nominated for “Favorite Artist” in the Alternative Music category. Coldplay’s X&Y debuted at #1 in 32 countries upon its release in June. It has since sold 2.3 million copies in the U.S., and the album’s first single, “Speed Of Sound,” has been certified double platinum. A Rush of Blood to the Head, the band’s sophomore album, was recently certified quadruple platinum in the U.S. The band has won four Grammy awards and sold upwards of 28 million albums worldwide in total to date.
