NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Concert pianist David Oei, who has performed with the New York Philharmonic and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, has been arrested and charged with inappropriate contact with a 15-year-old student.
According to New York CBS affiliate CBS2, Oei was charged on Monday with forcible touching and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
Police told CBS that the incident allegedly occurred inside Oei's midtown home while he was providing instruction for the student who he has been teaching since September of last year.
The incident allegedly occurred in March, but was reported to the authorities by the girl and her parents over the weekend.
Oei is an instructor at the New School’s Mannes College of Music Prep. The school released a statement saying that they could not comment on the matter, but work cooperating fully with the investigation. – Staff Writers
