COLOGNE, Germany (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — German ticketing giant CTS Eventim has signed a deal to acquire Arena Management GmbH, which will see Eventim assume operations at the Lanxess Arena, Germany's largest multi-purpose hall, pending approval from the Cartel Office.

Configurable for seating of up to 20,000, the arena first opened in 1998 as the Kolnarena, and adopted the Lanxess name in 2008 following a ten-year naming rights sponsorship deal.

The arena currently serves as a home for VfL Gummersbach (team handball), Kölner Haie (ice hockey) as well as concerts with artists such as Coldplay, Madonna, Nickelback and Sting performing at the venue. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
