LONDON (VIP NEWS) — IQ Magazine has just awarded its coveted Limelight Award for 2010 to the Danish-produced ABBA The Show, The Ultimate Tribute to ABBA.
The award recipient is CSE (Carsten Svoldgaard Entertainment), is a resident of the Danish Wadden Sea Islands. It was in this location nine years ago, that managing director Carsten Svoldgaard came up with the idea of creating an ABBA show of a quality that could tour the world.
The basis of the show came to consist of an important part of the original Swedish ABBA back-up with the original musicians, such as Ulf Anderson, Janne Schaffer and Mats Ronander and others, together with The National Symphony Orchestra of London under the direction of Matthew Freeman. Lastly, the show features the two Waterloo singers Katja Nord and Camilla Dahlin in front.
SB spent a year getting the entire production up and running, and through CSB’s daughter company CSE Entertainment (CSE), the big show has been on tour non-stop for the last 8 years.
ABBA The Show, The Ultimate Tribute to Abba, has visited 34 countries and has been seen by no fewer than 2,000,000 people.
IQ Magazine ends the year by distributing a series of awards as a tribute to the best productions within theatre, show and family entertainment. CSE was nominated along with four others for the Limelight Award in the show/musical category ”Of Musical Note.” The other nominees were Michael Jackson Tribute Show ”Thriller Live” (FlyingMusic), Priscilla the Musical (Backrow/Chuggi), Dirty Dancing (Jacobsen) and Tanguera (BB Promotion).
