Dave Lucas, Former Clear Channel Exec, Launches Live 360

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Former Clear Channel Entertainment president/co-CEO Dave Lucas, as promised, announced debut Live 360, his new concert promotion company, His first show is on May 8th, a Good Charlotte/Simple Plan show at the Pepsi Coliseum in Indianapolis. He will also promote the July 10th String Cheese Incident’s BIG Summer Classic festival event at Military Park in Indianapolis.

According to Billboard.biz “Live 360” is the concert promotion arm of what Lucas says will eventually be a multi-faceted live entertainment company, Lucas Entertainment Group. Lucas says other shows will be forthcoming, including major arena concerts at the city's Conseco Fieldhouse. “We are very actively pursuing events for Conseco Fieldhouse for 2005 and 2006,” he tells Billboard.biz. “The support from agencies, managers and artists has been fantastic.”

By December, Lucas says he will launch Bio Creative, a live event marketing firm. And in the coming months, “we will roll out a new business model specifically for arenas, a business model that will bring to them new revenue streams that they’ve never been able to take advantage of in the past.”

That model, Lucas says, will include content creation and a booking/consultancy relationship with arenas and local promoters.

Lucas has a 33-year history in the concert business, founding Indianapolis-based Sunshine Productions. In 1997, it was the second promotion company acquired in the industry consolidation orchestrated by SFX, which was later acquired by Clear Channel Communications. Lucas was CEO of CCE for 2-1/2 years.

Lucas left CCE last fall in the wake of a reorganization of the company’s music division that saw Michael Rapino named as president, Global Music. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
