Detroit To Get First Hard Rock Cafe

Hard Rock Cafe will add a new location in Detroit, MI with a 8,200 square foot cafe located in the new Compuware headquarters building within Campus Martius in the heart of downtown Detroit. Scheduled to open in late 2003, Hard Rock Cafe Detroit will be situated at the main entrance to the Compuware building overlooking Campus Martius Park and will feature 225 seats of indoor, al fresco (within the Compuware atrium) and outdoor patio dining as well as a large, inviting bar area and merchandise store. It will be the first Hard Rock Cafe in Michigan.

"Detroit's rich music history and ongoing downtown revitalization efforts made the decision to open a Hard Rock Cafe location there an easy one," said Oliver Munday, vice president of Strategic Development for Hard Rock Cafe International, Inc. "Detroit has been a target of ours for more than 10 years. We were waiting for the right location with the right partners and we've found both with Compuware."

Campus Martius, the 7-block, 2 million square foot development is conveniently located near the new land-based casinos, hotels, the theater and cultural districts, two brand new stadiums and the Cobo Convention Center.

"We're honored to have Hard Rock Cafe as our anchor tenant," said Peter Karmanos, Compuware chairman and CEO. "Our headquarters building will not only provide 4,100 Compuware employees with a fantastic work environment, but will also give Detroit a premier entertainment and retail destination."
