Dotson Named Chief Marketing Officer At TicketsNow.com

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —
TicketsNow.com has hired earlier this year of Kenneth Dotson as chief marketing officer. Dotson was the founding vice president of Marketing for SportsLine.com — the publisher of CBS SportsLine and a network of other sports-related Web sites and media properties. With more than 20 years of marketing experience, including a dozen in senior management, he is charged with leading TicketsNow's strategic business initiatives in the areas of direct and brand marketing across all media, corporate communications, business development, corporate sales and product development. In addition, he serves on the firm's Information Technology Steering Committee.

"Kenneth's dynamic leadership abilities, innovative marketing programs and results-oriented management style are already paying great dividends for us," said Mike Domek, founder and CEO of TicketsNow. "We are experiencing unprecedented growth with year-to-date sales up more than 200% over 2004. Our best days are clearly yet to come."

"The excitement, teamwork, and opportunity at TicketsNow exceed anything I have been associated with previously," stated Dotson. "There is tremendous potential for continued market growth in the online ticketing industry, and I'm excited to join Mike and his team as they continue to strengthen their position as the category leader."

In addition to co-authoring SportsLine's original business plan in 1994, Dotson created and directed the marketing, advertising, membership, and public relations programs for all SportsLine properties between 1994 and 1998, which led to SportsLine being one of the most heavily visited sites on the Internet and one of the most recognized brand names in interactive media. During his tenure, SportsLine was consistently ranked among the 10 most heavily visited news, information, and entertainment sites on the Internet. SportsLine raised more than $40 million in private capital and successfully completed both initial and secondary public offerings on NASDAQ during his tenure. SportsLine was acquired by Viacom in 1994.

Prior to joining TicketsNow, Dotson also served as the senior vice president of Marketing & Business Development for PlanetAll, Inc, an Internet- based contact management and group calendar service (acquired by Amazon.com in 1998) and as the chief Mmrketing officer for uBid.com, a leading business to consumer Internet auction company (acquired by CMGI in 2000). Since the acquisition of uBid, Dotson has been a private investor and consultant to various companies. He continues to serve on the Executive Council of Longworth Venture Partners, a venture capital firm based in Waltham, MA. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
