Edinburgh Festival Called Off After Funding Snafu

EDINBURGH, Scotland (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A music festival, Let's Rock! Edinburgh has been cancelled due to low ticket sales the Edinburgh News reported.

The festival, which had been promoted as a counterpoint to the T in the Park festival in England had only sold less than 10 percent of the 22,000 tickets available for the September 30 show.

At least thirty acts were booked for the fest, including Idlewild and Babyshambles

Promoter Derek Crosbie of DSC Events said that the event was cancelled after a private backer had withdrawn from the project. He pledged to refund all tickets at their point of purchase.

"This event was being funded with the aid of a private investor who is now not able to produce the necessary funding required to see the event continue. This unfortunately leaves us with no choice but to cancel the event with immediate effect." said Derek, adding "At this stage in proceedings, we do not have the time to access other funds through bank, sponsorship or other means." – CelebrityAccess staff writers.
