MADISON, WI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Chicago-based indie-pop performer Andrew Bird has been tapped as the opening headliner at this year's Forward Music Festival. Local favorite Pale Young Gentlemen has also been named as the support act for Andrew Bird.
The full lineup for the event will be announced on July 8th and festival organizers report that more than 60 acts have already been confirmed.
This year will mark the second edition of the event. Last year's inaugural event featured a lineup of national and local acts totalling about 70 bands, including Neko Case, Killdozer, Dan Deacon, Monotonix, Detroit Cobras, Dillinger Four and Bob Mould and drew more than 2,000 fans.
The festival is set to go on September 17-19. Tickets for the Andrew Bird show will be available for $25 and $35 at the Overture Center ticket office, by phone at 608.258.4141 or online at overturecenter.com beginning at 10 am on July 11, 2009.
