TUCSON, AZ (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Tucson City Council unanimously approved a $5.6 million loan intended to ensure the Fox Tucson Theatre restoration is finished before New Year’s Eve.
The Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation was given 15 years to repay the loan, which will come from bonds guaranteed by the Rio Nuevo Downtown redevelopment district.
The money will help to restore the 75-year-old landmark theater. The cost of the project has jumped from $8.5 million to $12.9 million over the past five years, in part due to inflation.
The restoration will open the theatre to concerts, stage productions, children’s programs, meeting and other events. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
