MANCHESTER, UK (CelebrityAccess) — Police in Manchester are conducting an investigation following an allegation of fraud at Manchester Arena.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Greater Manchester Police said that they received an allegation of fraud in October, 2014 and have launched an ongoing inquiry. They did not elaborate on the nature of the fraud, or who, exactly, had been accused. The arena is operated by SMG Europe.
The 21,000 capacity Manchester Arena, celebrating its 20 anniversary, is one of the busiest in the world, second only two the O2 in London. The venue is currently undergoing a a multi-million-pound rehabilitation that includes new seats, new signage, and a new, open-plan design.
Shows planned for the arena when it opens later this year include concerts by Take That and Oasis.
