Free Lightlife Festival Draws Big Crowds

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Attendance reached an estimated 320,000 at the eleventh annual LifeLight Christian music festival held in Sioux Falls over Labor Day weekend, matching turnout for the event from the past year.

The event is free, but organizers reportedly estimate attendance based on parked vehicles and the number of visitors who arrive by shuttle, the Associated Press reported. Lifelight co-founder Alan Greene says about 60,000 came Friday and 130,000 both Saturday and Sunday.

The event featured a strong lineup of leading Christian artists including Switchfoot, Michael W. Smith, Casting Crowns, As I Lay Dying, Family Force 5, MxPx, Natalie Grant, Remedy Drive, Leeland, Sanctus Real, Lincoln Brewster, The Afters, Building 429, Matthew West, Showbread, Grits, John Reuben, Seventh Day Slumber, Day of Fire among others.

Founded in 1998, LifeLight Communications is a faith-based, non-profit organization that facilitates numerous concerts, mission trips, tours, student clubs and other events by partnering with churches, businesses and other ministries. The LifeLight Festival, held annually on Labor Day weekend, is their largest event. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
