GAINSVILLE, FL (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) After a 15 year run, Common Grounds, a popular coffee cafee and live music venue will be closing their doors.
The venue has an extensive list of artists who've performed on their stage that reads like who's who of indie music, including Girl Talk, Southern Culture On The Skids, My Morning Jacket and Dick Dale to name just a few.
As to why the cafe is closing, they say that there's no single reason other than the management felt like it was 'time to move on.' Common Grounds is hosting shows until the end of the month with some DJ events and a two day 'Summer Jam' event.
"Hopefully the building we have been occupying for the last 6 plus years will host live music again in the near future. We would like nothing more than to hand this space off to a new group of music enthusiasts who will bring new energy and new ideas to Gainesville's music scene." the venue owners said in a post on their website. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
