George Wood Named CEO At VenuWorks

AMES, Iowa (CelebrityAccess) — Venue management firm VenuWorks has named George Wood as the company's first CEO, starting on July 1st. Wood will be based in the company's Ames headquarters and will report to VenuWorks president Steve Peters.

Mr. Woods portfolio at VenuWorks will include overseeing VenuWorks client accounts and he eventually will be responsible for the core operations of VenuWorks’ management services.

Prior to joining VenuWorks, Wood worked for Live Nation/Ticketmaster for 18 years. Wood served as Ticketmaster’s Senior Vice President based in Chicago since 2008 and was responsible for the growth of Ticketmaster’s core business throughout the eastern half of the United States. Prior to being recruited by Live Nation/Ticketmaster, Wood spent five years with Broadway Entertainment, promoting concerts across the United States. An alumnus of the University of Wisconsin and an accomplished musician, he got his start in the industry on stage.

Mr. Peters retains his role as Chairman and President at VenuWorks and will focus on business development and content creation for the company's managed facilities.
