LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation has launched a new phase in their aggressive promotional effort with the introduction of the Live Nation Club Passport. Obtainable for $49.99, the passport will give you pretty much unlimited access to most shows at Live Nation clubs around the country.
Here's how it works. Beginning Sept. 17, concert fans go to LiveNation.com and purchase a Club Passport. A list of participating shows will be immediately available. Every Monday thereafter, Passport holders log on to livenation.com/passport or follow LiveNation on Facebook or Twitter to see the list of participating club shows in their city and to reserve their ticket. From here, Club Passport holders just bring their Live Nation Club Passport number and photo I.D. to the club's box office for admission.
There are a few catches however and any parking fees are not included as a part of the deal. Additionally, a passport won't get you into a sold-out show.
The passport program is a follow-on to Live Nation's 'No Service Fee Wednesday' promotions that they ran over the summer for their sheds around the country. The program drove ticket sales by lowering the price of a ticket by waiving a (most) of the service fees typically tacked on to a ticket. While rock-bottom ticket prices may seem counterintuitive, Live Nation's business model includes a brisk business in add-on sales at venues with items such as merch and concessions and they estimate that the average concert-goer delivers $15-17 in anillary revenue per show.
The Live Nation Club Passport is valid for participating shows at the following venues:
