(CelebrityAccess News Service) – To curb the scalping of tickets for Glastonbury this year (June 25-27), festival producer Michael Eavis is making tickets available only through the telephone ticketline and the website www.aloud.com, and limited to two per person. Additionally, tickets will be personalized to prevent re-selling.
According to Eavis, tickets sold quickly and were being re-sold all over at three to four times their face value. “Some of these tickets were traced back to outlets that we supplied but had no effective control over,” he said in a post on the Glastonbury website.
”The measures we are taking this year will result in a much fairer way to access the Festival,” Eavis said. – Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
