Global Spectrum And Live Nation Take On Ontario Venues

ONTARIO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Global Spectrum has partnered with Live Nation to run Hamilton, Ontario’s 19,000-seat Copps Coliseum and the two-theater Hamilton Place. The final approval of the five year management deal is expected on October 10th.

This marks the first time Global Spectrum has partnered with Live Nation in an existing project, though they are also working together to facilitate a proposed arena for Virginia Beach, Va, according to Venues Today.

Hamilton Convention Centre, the other venue that had been under the management of HECFI (Hamilton Entertainment and Convention Facilities, Inc.), will be managed by P.J. Mercanti of Carmen’s, a local restaurateur and developer. Mercanti intends to build a hotel onsite, which will bring more activity to the convention center, which will help Hamilton Place and Copps Coliseum, said Frank Russo, SVP of Business Development for Global Spectrum, according to Venues Today.

The venue will continue to use the services of Ticketmaster, a Live Nation company.

Russo said the deal calls for Global Spectrum/Live Nation to cut losses at Copps Coliseum and Hamilton Place. Global Spectrum and Live Nation have a 75/25 partnership, according to Venues Today.
