(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —
Global Spectrum has
been selected by the University of Massachusetts to manage the William D. Mullins Memorial Center, the 10,000-seat multi-purpose sports and entertainment facility on the school's campus at Amherst, MA. Robert LeBarron, a nine-year employee of Global Spectrum and formerly general manager of the University of New Hampshire's Whittemore Center Arena, a Global Spectrum facility in Durham, NH, has been named as the general manager of the Mullins Center.

"The Mullins Center is a terrific facility and one that fits very nicely into our facility roster with two other universities in the Northeast – University of New Hampshire and University of Rhode Island," said Global Spectrum President Michel Sauers. "Our company is extremely proud to have 27 men and women within Global Spectrum's ranks with ties to the University of Massachusetts. We are confident that our entire company will enhance the operation and effectiveness of the Mullins Center to make it one of the premiere facilities in the Northeast."

"It's very exciting to be able to work closely with the University of Massachusetts, my alma mater and the school that provided me with the experiences and knowledge to be able to excel in my career," said Global Spectrum Chairman Peter Luukko, a 1981 graduate of UMASS and a recipient of the Harold J. VanderZwaag Distinguished Alumnus Award by the Sports Management Program at UMASS. "Because of my fondness for UMASS Amherst, Global Spectrum and I will do everything in our power to make the Mullins Center the standard by which all other on-campus public assembly facilities are judged."

LeBarron also has worked at various other Global Spectrum facilities, including the West Palm Beach Auditorium and the Colorado Springs World Arena.

As public assembly facility operators, Global Spectrum provides management for six university facilities, including the Ryan Center at University of Rhode Island; University of Miami Convocation Center; Liacouras Center at Temple University; Constant Convocation Center at Old Dominion University; Colonial Center at University of South Carolina; and Whittemore Center Arena at University of New Hampshire. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
