Gordon Tapped As GM For James Brown Arena


AUGUSTA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Robert "Flash" Gordon has been selected to manage the newly renamed James Brown Arena in Augusta, Georgia. According to WJBF, Gordon was chosen over two other potential candidates, including Reggie Williams, a previous manager for the facility.

While the 67 year-old record store owner has no prior experience with large venue management, he has been involved in the music industry for over 40 years.

Starting out in radio, Gordon's first job was National Program Director for WJBE – Knoxville, WRDW -Augusta, and WEBE – Baltimore (All three owned by James Brown) and later worked on-air at WOIC in Columbia, SC and WTHB in North Augusta, SC.

He served a stint as Regional Promotions Manager for Mercury Records and then went on to open a successful independant record store, Pyramid Music in 1976. Another location was added in 1987. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
