WASHINGTON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — If Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) have their way, Al Gore's global warming concert might have a new venue, the grounds of the US Capitol.
According to the Washington Post, the senators have entered a bi-partisan resolution to clear the way for the former Vice President to stage his event on the Mall. Gore and other promoters for the event had been trying to secure permission to stage the event there but as of yet had been unable to get the National Park Service to issue the appropriate permits. Thus stalemated, Gore called upon his old friends on the Hill to smooth the way.
The resolution still needs to clear both the Senate and the House, but observers expect that it will be well-received in the current political climate.
