Gregg Allman Cancels String Of Concerts Over Serious Medical Issue

ROCHESTER, NY (CelebrityAccess) — Rock legend Gregg Allman has canceled all of his upcoming concert dates through late October citing a 'serious illness.'

Affected dates start with Allman's August 12th show at the Peach Music Festival in Scranton, PA and run through October 16th when he was due to perform at the Clearwater Jazz Festival in Florida.

Allman said his tour will resume with his performance at his own Laid Back Festival at the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta, GA, on October 29. All dates after that are currently still on the books.

A post explaining the cancellation says that Allman is currently under a doctor's care at the Mayo Clinic, but did not offer any insight into the nature of Allman's affliction. Allman has previously battled Hepatitis C, as well as liver cancer, which necessitated a liver transplant in 2010.

“I want to thank my fans and friends for supporting me while I rest up and focus on getting better and back on the road as soon as I can,” Allman said in a post announcing the cancellations. “I’ve been working hard with my band, my pride, and joy, to play our music for everyone. We’ll see y’all in October.” – Staff Writers
