LONGMONT, CO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — More than 40,000 God-fearing, music-loving fans attended this year's third annual Heaven Fest in Longmont, Colorado this weekend.
Once deep into a life of drugs and crime, Dwayne Young came to sing the Christian word on stage and danced his "Jig for Jesus" while concert-goers yelled "Amen!"
Heaven Fest began as a small show three years ago at a site in Brighton and grew quickly, causing the fest's last minute move to accommodate the crowd.
The stage offerings included heavy metal, hip hop, indie and straight ahead, conventional Christian rock.
Unlike most festivals, there was no beer sold at Heaven Fest, making the venue alcohol-free.
So, while drugs and alcohol have fueled much of this summer's music festival madness, Heaven Fest was enthusiastically tame as the show wrapped up with a giant prayer service on the main stage. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
