HK Management's Howard Kaufman Passes

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Influential artist manager Howard Kaufman, who represented some of the biggest names in music, had died, Billboard is reporting.

The cause of Kaufman's death has not been disclosed.

In 1974, Kaufman partnered with Irving Azoff to launch Front Line Management, which fostered the careers of key clients such as The Eagles, and Steely Dan. The company went on hiatus in 1982 when Azoff went to MCA Records, but was revived by Azoff and Kaufman in 2005 before being acquired by Ticketmaster in 2008.

Kaufman's own company, HK Management, was part of Artist Nation and has a client roster that includes Lenny Kravitz, Def Leppard, Chicago, Aerosmith and others.
