HOB And Charles Attal Presents Take Over Madison Theater

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — In a $1.2 million deal, Charles Attal Presents and House of Blues Concerts has taken over the Madison Theater in Covington, Kentucky, a 1,200-capacity venue known for some financial trouble in the past.

The small theater closed because due to bankruptcy last June after three years as a concert facility. The theater had undergone a $3 million renovation in 2001, thanks to local developer Esther Johnson, who also began booking bands and performances at the venue.

The Madison is now the first joint venture in House of Blues Concerts history. Charles Attal Presents, producer of the Austin City Limits Music Festival and owner of Texas’ Stubb’s Bar-B-Q venues, partnered with HOB to create an ideal facility in the smaller city, directly across the river from Cincinnati.

The Madison Theater already has a number of concerts scheduled, bringing national acts to the small venue. The planned performances include Black Label Society, Indigo Girls, Victor Wooten, The Psychedelic Furs, Paul Westerberg, and Alkaline Trio. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
