Deciding they wouldn't get the sale price they wanted, House of Blues board of
directors have turned down Concerts West's and Clear Channel Entertainment's bid
to acquire the company, reports the Rocky Mountain News. In the Concerts West
and CCE bid, HOB's assets would be split between the two companies where
Concerts West would get the bulk of HOB, including its club chain, and CCE would
acquire certain properties including amphitheaters in Atlanta, Cleveland and Dallas
(CelebrityAccess, May 14).
This leaves Fred Rosen's Key3Media and radio chain Entercom still in the running.
A conference call is planned for next week by the board to discuss the two
remaining bids.
