Hockeyfest Music Festival Postponed At Last Minute

BRANTFORD Ont. (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A three-day music festival planned for Brantford, Ont. has been postponed after plans with two different venues fell through.

Hockeyfest, with headliners Weezer, Creed and Marianas Trench, was set to take place this weekend, but earlier this week, but Brantford police threw a monkey wrench into the works by withdrawing their support and policing.

According to Toronto's CP24, Police said that they withdrew their support after promoter failed to meet requirements of the fire department, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the Grand River Conservation Authority and other agencies. Once support from the police agency was withdrawn, the conservation authority pulled the festival's permit for the Brant Park conservation area.

Event promoter Ralph Spoltore told CP24 that he was in talks with two Toronto venues to find a home for the event but as of yet, no additional information about a reschedule or new venue has been announced. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
