IAVM Announces Tom Mobley As The Recipient Of The Lifetime Achievement Award For Convention Centers

SEATTLE, WA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) has announced that Tom Mobley, Senior Vice President of Convention Centers, Global Spectrum Facility Management, wukk recieve the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient on behalf of IAVM’s Convention Centers/Exhibit Halls Committee.

The award will be presented later this month at the 2012 2012 International Convention Center Conference) held in Seattle, WA.

Mobley got his start in the industry in 1981 as Executive Director at the Baltimore Convention Center. In 1984, he took over the role of Executive Director at the Jacksonville Convention Complex, managing the Prime F. Osborn Convention Center and the Civic Auditorium, a 3,200 seat theater.

Subsequentyl Mobley was appointed as Director of the Division of the Theaters and Arenas for the City and County of Denver, where he was responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and operation of the Colorado Convention Center.

In the past decade Mobley has also been the General Manager for McCormick Place Convention Complex in Chicago, General Manager and CEO of the Washington Convention Center Authority in Washington DC, and most recently acts as Senior Vice President of Convention Centers, Global Spectrum Facility Management in Savannah, GA. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
