Illinois Attorney General Opens Investigation Into Failed Country Life Music Festival

PEORIA (CelebrityAccess) — In the wake of the abrupt cancellation of the Country Life Music Festival, the Attorney General's office of Illinois has launched an investigation into the event's promoter Blu Entertainment Group LLC.

The festival, which was set to take place in at Three Sisters Park in Peoria on July 17-19 with a lineup featuring Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Travis Tritt, Sawyer Brown, and Joe Diffie.

No reason for the cancellation was announced by Blu Entertainment and since then, the Attorney General's office has numerous consumer complaints about the festival's refund policy, the Chillicothe Times-Bulletin reported.

Jessica Tharp, vice president of the Heart of Illinois Better Business Bureau told the Time-Bulletin that attempts made to contact Blu Entertainment have been unsuccessful and ticketholders have complained that they feel like they are “getting the runaround” in regards to refunds.

The festival had a succesful debut last year at Peoria's Ravina on the Lakes, with a lineup that included Brad Paisley, Hank Williams Jr., Trace Adkins and Montgomery Gentry. The event was moved to Three Sister Park this year in anticipation of larger crowds and to provide better camping accomodations, according to the Bloomington-based newspaer The Pantagraph. – Staff Writers
