TEHRAN (CelebrityAccess) — Two members of an Iranian thrash metal band have reportedly been arrested for playing heavy metal music and could potentially face execution on charges of blasphemy.

In a letter posted on Canadian metal news site Metal Nation Radio, an associate of the band claimed that two members of the band Confess — Nikan Siyanor Khosravi and Khosravi Arash 'Chemical Ilkhani' — were arrested in Novemeber and charged with a variety of offenses, including blasphemy; forming and running an illegal record label; writing seditious lyrics and interviewing on a forbidden radio station.

The letter claims that the two men were held in solitary confinement until February 5th when they were released after paying a bail of approximately $30,000.

The letter also asserts that the band's emails and Facebook page have been seized by the government. The group's Facebook page is still live, but shows no activity after November 5th.

The crime of Blasphemy in Iran is a serious charge and punishable by, prolonged detention, mistreatment, torture, and execution.
