IRS Takes ICP To Court Over Delinquent Taxes

DETROIT (CelebrityAccess) — A federal prosecutor has asked a federal judge to force Joey “Shaggy 2 Dope” Utsler, co-founder of Detroit rap duo Insane Clown Posse to produce financial records over allegedly delinquent taxes.

According to the IRS, Utsler and fellow Insane Clown Posse rapper Joe "Violent J" Bruce owe a combined $379,783 in Federal income taxes from 2011 and 2012, a report by the Detroit News said.

The IRS alleges that Utsler failed to show up at scheduled meetings with the IRS in March and then again at the rescheduled meeting in May. The IRS then claims Utsler's attorney Marvin Karana asked for a one-week extension, but Utsler again failed to to comply with the extended deadline.

Karana told the Detroit News that he no longer represents Utsler.

The IRS's decision to pursue legal remedy comes just one week before the Insane Clown Posse is scheduled to hold its annual Gathering of the Juggalos fan fest near Columbus, Ohio. – Staff Writers
