It's All About Who You Know

LONGMONT (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Colorado blues band, The Groove Hawgs have a new singer. Replacing Shelby Johnson will be 21 year-old Colorado resident Kolby Morris. If her last name sounds familiar, you might be thinking of her dad, Denver promoter Chuck Morris, recently of Live Nation and now comfortably settling in at AEG.

The band happened to be booked as the opening act for the Who recently at did a show at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Some might think that Morris' influence played a part in that. According to the band's manager Kathy Lee however, that isn't the case. The Longmont FYI reported that Lee said that the band was booked for the gig before Kolby had signed on.

At an October show at Blondie's Firehouse, Chuck Morris watched his daughter perform with the band for the first time. The band's drummer Rick Lewis told the FYI that "Our dressing room was literally a closet where they kept all the cans of food, and Chuck came back before the show in our little backstage area, He said, ‘Hey guys, I promise you guys will have a better dressing room at The Who show.’” – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
