PROVIDENCE, RI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Brown Concert Agency announced its 2010 50th Anniversary Spring Weekend lineup with headliners Snoop Dogg and MGMT, featuring The Black Keys, Wale, and Major Lazer.
These acts follow Brown’s storied tradition of putting on eclectic concerts for 50 years that feature both established legends and dynamic up-and-comers. Many names have graced Brown’s stage before they rose to fame. The university has played host to Bob Dylan (twice!), Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin, James Brown, Bruce Springsteen, Ray Charles, The Ramones, Bo Diddley, U2, REM, Phish, Sonic Youth, and recently M.I.A. and Vampire Weekend, to name but a few.
The 2010 concerts maintain the spirit of Spring Weekend combining well-known names with artists on the rise. Imbued with a certain appeal to GenY, these acts will add their names to Brown’s growing Spring Weekend anthology.
This year the concerts will be held on the Brown campus Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24, 2010. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
