LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Michael Jackson documentary "This is It" based on footage shot during rehearsals to the fallen king of pop's comeback concerts will be shown in simultaneous premieres in more than 15 cities around the world next month Reuters is reporting.
While movies often have multiple "premiers" in different cities, rarely do they take place on the same day. Included on the list of cities to host premiers will be New York, Rio de Janeiro, London, Berlin and Seoul. The names of additional hosting cities have yet to be released. All told, more than 25 cities will see a premier for the movie.
Sony Pictures paid more than $60 million for the rights to the to the rehearsal footage in the film, which is set to open to the general public for a limited, two-week run on October 28th. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
