Jason Blumenfeld Named New GM, Androscoggin Bank Colisée


LEWISTON, Maine (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Global Spectrum, operators of the Androscoggin Bank Colisée, has named Jason Blumenfeld as the facility's new general manager succeeding Jeff Schumacher, who was named general manager of the Global Spectrum-managed Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ.

Blumenfeld, who joined Global Spectrum two years ago, formerly worked at the Wachovia Complex in Philadelphia as an event manager. He was the lead coordinator for the 2006 NCAA Men's First and Second Round Basketball Games at the Wachovia Center and one of the principals responsible for securing the 2008 US Olympic Gymnastic Trials to Philadelphia.

Prior to his role at Wachovia Complex, he was an event operator at Philadelphia Phillies' Citizens Bank Park, also a Global Spectrum managed facility. During his tenure at the baseball facililty, he helped the company and the team open the new 43,000-seat ball park.

Global Spectrum was hired on May 3, 2005, by the Androscoggin Bank Colisée Board of Directors to operate the 3,700-seat multipurpose sports and entertainment arena–home to the Lewiston MAINEiacs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Global Spectrum manages the day-to-day operations of the Colisée, including scheduling of events and attractions at the facility for the City of Lewiston. — Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
