Jean-Michel Jarre To Be Interviewed At ADE

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (VIP-NEWS) — Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world`s leading event for electronic music, will welcome French electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre to its 19th edition (15 to 19 October). Jarre will be interviewed by one of the most successful Dutch DJ`s and producers, Armin van Buuren.

Jean-Michel Jarre took electronic music to new peaks of popularity in the late 70`s and throughout the 80`s and 90s, selling over 80 million albums worldwide. His melodic, instrumental, electronically-driven music still sounds fresh today, and his astonishing live shows in iconic sites such as London`s Docklands, the Eiffel Tower and the Pyramids of Giza, were seen by millions. His combination of state-of-the-art sounds and lights to create a thoroughly immersive experience pre-dated today`s huge, technically sophisticated EDM raves.

He remains a very busy man, having taken on the presidency of CISAC, the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers, where he campaigns tirelessly for copyright protection, as well as continuing his recording career, and designing high-end speakers for Jarre Technologies.

At ADE, Jean-Michel Jarre will be interviewed by one of the most successful Dutch DJ`s and Producers Armin van Buuren, as part of ADE`s extensive conference program.

"Jean-Michel was one of the true electronic music pioneers at the point where it was not yet known as trance or EDM. In the beginning the synthesizer was seen by many as a "devil" instrument and its sound was not particularly regarded as "music" by some. But with albums like "Oxygene", "Equinox" and "Zoolook" Jean-Michel reached a huge audience and opened many doors for synthesizer-based music. This device is the basis of what we now call dance music, and Jarre is also a pioneer when it comes to large audience performances and techniques such as video projection," says Armin van Buuren.

Previously announced speakers for ADE`s Conference Program include globally renowned film composer Hans Zimmer, Live Nation Entertainment`s president and chief executive officer Michael Rapino, Spinnin`Records CEO Eelko van Kooten, Merlin CEO Charles Caldas, Steve Schnur, worldwide executive, music and music marketing for Electronic Arts (EA), Betsy Beers producer on Grey`s Anatomy, Private Practice and Scandal and leading Hollywood music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas.
