NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Billy Joel's decision to perform a second 'final concert' at New York's famous Shea Stadium has angered fans who paid to watch him close the venue.
The rocker's 16 July (08) concert at the home of the New York Mets baseball team – due for demolition this year (08) – sold out in just an hour, so he added another date two days later.
But fans attending the first gig are furious – having paid around $100 (£50) to see what they thought was the last gig at the stadium, where the Beatles once performed.
One man tells the New York Daily News, "I think we were misled. They just really screwed people and totally diluted the value of these tickets." New York Mets bosses have confessed they may yet add more dates, "If there's enough of a ticket demand." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
