John Boyle To Insomniac Events


LOS ANGELES (AP) — Insomniac Events, the EDM promoter behind the Electric Daisy events, has named John Boyle to the post of Chief Growth Officer, effective immediately.

In his new post, Boyle will oversee the new business and growth efforts of the company, as well as explore potential new markets. Boyle will also serve as Chief Financial Officer for Insomniac on an interim basis.

Boyle got his start in the industry as a dummer and manager of LA rock band TomFoolery, but eventually launched his own company, Extreme Consulting, a music marketing and promotion shop, who's clients included ESPN X-Games, US Open of Surfing, MAGIC (fashion trade expo) and Bear Mountain Ski Resort, as well as producing concerts for No Doubt, The Foo Fighters, Sublime and others.

Boyle also helped to launch the Vans Warped Tour, overseeing marketing for the touring festival in its first two years. He also owned and produced the SnoCore Tour, which lined up a roster of artists that included Black Eyed Peas, Sublime, Incubus, Blink 182, System of a Down and many others.

Boyle also spent several years as a an A&R/marketing rep with stints at Irving Azoff's Giant Records, Virgin Records and Warners.
