BEOGRAD: Nearly 21 years after he was shot dead on a street in New York, the murdered ex-Beatle John Lennon, has a street named after him. One of the main streets in the North Serbian city Novi Sad will be re-named. For the last three years the street has been nameless, prior to this until 1988 it was a street in the capital of the Vojvodina province and was named after a communist revolutionary from Yugoslavia.
The new name for the street will to be celebrated, and according to the local newspaper “Gradjanski list”, the town’s government is planning to invite the Lennon-widow Yoko Ono and her son Julian Lennon for the occasion.
