LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Pop star Katy Perry has been named as the the halftime performer at Super Bowl XLIX, according to multiple reports.
The big game will take place on Feb. 1st, 2015 in Glendale, Arizona. With 111.5 million viewers tuning in, this year's Super Bowl was the most watched event in television history and provided a significant sales bump for halftime performer Bruno Mars.
In August, the Wall Street Journal reported that a number of performers, including Coldplay and Rihanna had been asked if they would be willing to pay a percentage of future concert grosses in exchange for the half time performer slot.
However, Perry, during an appearance on ESPN's "College GameDay," said that she had not participated in a pay to play deal. – Staff Writers
