Keeping The Blues Alive 2007 Awards Announced


MEMPHIS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Blues Foundation has announced 21 individuals and organizations to be honored with a 2007, Keeping The Blues Alive (KBA) Award. The awards ceremony will be conducted on Saturday, February 3rd at a brunch. The ceremony will be a part of the International Blues Challenge weekend during which the semi-finals and finals of the IBC competition will be held. Additional seminars, presentations and other programs will be held for blues societies, fans and industry professionals.

The awards are intended to recognize individuals and organizations that have made "significant contributions to Blues music" behind the scenes. Each is selected on the basis of merit by a select panel of Blues professionals."

Recipients this year include manager Charles Driebe, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the Lucerne Blues Festival and Memphis club Rum Boogie Café.
