Kentucky Exposition Center Plans Shed


LOUISVILLE, KY (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Kentucky Exposition Center, which is already undergoing a $55 million reconstruction, has additional plans on the books, pending approval of a new 10,000 to 12,000-capacity amphitheater to be located at the current site of Cardinal Stadium.

The 42,000-seat stadium will be razed, and the Kentucky State Fair intends to as the 2008 General Assembly for about $20 million to build the amphitheater. The stadium dates back to 1958 and is now used primarily for free fair concerts.

The new amphitheater would be completed by 2009.

The Exposition Center’s current reconstruction project is expected be completed by October 2007, with a new 215,000-square-foot exhibition hall. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
