GREEN BAY, WI (CelebrityAccess) — Kevin Lyman, creator of the Vans Warped Tour brand among other endeavors, recently visited the University of Wisconsin Green Bay Campus where he spoke to students on entrepreneurism and his experience as a promoter.
The address was part of Lyman's 'Get Your Foot in the Door in the Music Business' tour of the midwest, that included a number of speaking engagements, including a TED Talk.
During the presentation, Lyman discussed his history as a promoter and the history of the Warped Tour, noting that the first show only attracted 2,500 people and generated no profit.
“90 percent of what you do as an entrepreneur doesn’t make you money,” Lyman said, according to the school's newspaper The Fourth Estate.
Lyman also teased what was on the horizon, discussing his planned “It’s Not Dead” music festival. Set for October 10, the festival will celebrate music from the 1990s. – Staff Writers
