Korn Guitarist Leaves Band For Religion

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch has parted ways with the hard rock band, according to a report by Reuters. Welch broke the news on Sunday on a Bakersfield, California, radio station, citing that he had had a religious awakening.

“I had it in my heart to come here and explain to you,” said Welch during the interview. “I’m good friends with Korn. I love those guys, and they love me, and they’re very happy for me.”

In response to questions regarding the aggressive tone of Korn’s music, Welch commented, “Anger is a good thing and if kids want to listen to Korn, good, but there’s happiness after the anger. I’m going to show it through my actions how much I love my fans.”

Welch also said that he would be appearing at a local church this week to talk about “how I got to this place in my life, and I’ll answer all your questions.”

Korn’s remaining members have posted a message on their website, http://www.korn.com, saying that they respect Welch’s decision and wish him the best.

Korn is currently in the studio recording an album. No replacement for Welch has been named. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
