Lady Gaga & Sting Sign With Sony/ATV For Neighboring Rights

LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Sony/ATV Music Publishing has bolstered their neighboring rights roster with the addition of a slate of artists, including Lady Gaga, Sting.

The signings of both Lady Gaga and Sting to the Sony/ATV division come as both artists release new albums. Lady G's 5th studio release Perfect Illusion is her fourth consecutive album to hit #1 on the US charts. Sting's new studio album 57th & 9th will be released on November 11 and will be his first new rock album in 13 years.

Cream drummer Ginger Baker and contemporary stars French Montana, Grace, Kyla, Erick Morillo and Alan Walker are also newly signed to the UK-based operation, while deals have been extended with The Weeknd and Pharrell Williams.

Neighboring Rights are rights related to the sound recording of a musical work and are due to the artists and musicians featured whenever there is a commercial exploitation of it such as through radio or TV airplay. Sony/ATV's neighboring rights unit is led by George Powell, who previously oversaw Neighboring Rights at UK-based music licensing and rights organization PPL. – Staff Writers
